Spartans (15-11) experience cold spell
in setback to Benet in ESCC finale

   FEB. 22: Host Benet Academy went on a 9-0 spurt to close the third quarter and Marian Catholic never got closer than five the rest of the way in dropping a 62-55 decision to close out the ESCC season.

Marian (15-11, 6-3) entered the game with slim hopes of tying for the ESCC crown, but fell for the first time in six games in conference play.

Sean Taylor tallied 15 points to pace the Spartans, while Chase Adams (13 points, seven assists, three steals) and Malik Tidwell (10 points) also clicked for double figures.

Warren Allen and Chris White (eight points) each pulled down seven rebounds for Marian, which shot 40 percent from the field while the Redwings (22-6, 6-3) ripped the nets at a 56 percent clip.

FEB. 17- Marian Catholic retired the jersey #3 of former Spartan and current Phoenix Sun Tyler Ulis at halftime.

Sophs: The Spartans (17-7) were thwarted by ESCC champ Benet, 43-34.

Frosh: Marian's A Squad dropped a 41-37 decision to Benet Academy, while the B Team fell to the Redwings, 71-41.
