softballSpartans edged out by Lincoln-Way Central

Marian Catholic scored first on Friday, but host Lincoln-Way Central prevailed late for a 4-1 nonconference victory. Jessica Stickler (2-for-3) knocked in Lauren Berner with a run in the third inning, but Marian was unable to hold the advantage.

The Spartans were only outhit by the Knights, 9-8, but all eight of Marian's safeties were singles.

Junior Varsity: The Spartans dropped a 21-2 decision to Lincoln-Way Central, although Olivia Vondrak went 2-for-3 with a double and Lannah Dee was 1-for-3 with two RBI.
